CREW,
Not only did the football team make the weekend a complete success with it's stunning upset of Virginia Tech, but the drumline managed to once again scare off another cowardly opposing drumline without having to play a note! We also saw a couple records fall on Saturday....Larry Fitzgerald caught a touchdown pass in his 15th consecutive game the same day that the drumline recorded a record number of "beatings for those breaking ranks!" In all, I believe that over 10 ignorant fans got a face-, chest-, or ass-full of drumstick! Boy...it just doesn't get any better than that! The reunion was such a success that we have decided to do it all again 2 years from now for the Crew's "20th Reunion"! Now that everyone has 2 year's notice, please get me contact info for anyone you randomly run into over the next 2 years that is not currently on our list. The full directory will be placed on the Pitt Drumline's web site fairly soon, along with a recap of the reunion and pictures. I will let you all know when this stuff makes it to the website. Speaking of pictures, I ask that anyone who took some pics please forward them to me so that I can get them to the guys in charge of the website so In other business.... There wasn't a very large number of "Drumline Gear" order forms filled out at the reunion (probably because we were all drunk), so the drumline was hoping that they could get some more via email so that they can get enough orders to actually make it worth the trouble. They have requests for approximately 4 of each item so far, and they need to have about 20 or 24 each to reach the "fundraiser economies of scale" that make it a worthwhile fundraiser. So remember, buying some extra drumline stuff not only helps out the current line, but it also enables you to finally put that crusty old drumline hat away and sport a new one! And by the way, the hoodies kick ass. Since I have somehow deleted the copy of the order form I had on my computer, please contact me if you wish to purchase anything or have any questions. We will take orders for the next 2 weeks, so you'll have to send in a check by Wednesday, November 26th*.
Pitt Drumline Baseball Cap (adjustable)................................................................................................$18 * Checks should be made out to 'Dave Steed', and please include $5 for shipping if needed (otherwise, you can pick them up from me for free if you are in town) You can send your order to me, Brad Root @ 223 Bryson Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202. The last thing I wanted to mention is this: If anyone knows of any job openings in the computer science field, please let me know so that I can pass it on to a fellow drumline alumnus looking for work. (And no, it's not me!) That's all I have for now (as if that wasn't enough!). I hope you all had as good a time at the reunion as I did! Take care, and LET'S GO PITT! Brad "White Trash" Root |
